Over the course of the evening, the 40-strong table of guests enjoyed a champagne reception and three-course meal of shell-baked scallops, roast pork belly and steamed ginger sponge but prior to dessert being served, Tom Kitchin delighted the unsuspecting guests with the revelation that the gourmet menu they had just enjoyed had been cooked entirely using a Panasonic Steam Combination Microwave.
