It seems like only yesterday we were about to begin summer and kick off our PR campaign for the Henley Literary Festival, now the summer has passed, the festival has been and gone and we are very pleased to say it was a roaring success.
The seven day festival, which ran from 24-30th September on the gorgeous banks of the River Thames played host to a wonderful mix of names meaning there was truly something for everyone.
Popcorn was brought on board by The Henley Literary Festival organisers to help support its sixth year. The primary objective for the festival which is now attracting big name sponsors was to raise awareness amongst traditional literary lovers whilst engaging a completely new audience who may have previously been uninterested or intimidated by literary events.
The team at Popcorn focussed on a strategic and targeted media outreach programme to increase footfall and ticket sales, profiling the event on ‘what’s on’ pages and maximising access to top names such as Charley Boorman and Rupert Everett to place exclusive interviews.
30 pieces of coverage appeared in a broad range of consumer lifestyle titles including Psychologies, Company and Prima and achieved a reach of 6,250,539 and helped support the best year of ticket sales to date.
Sue Ryan, founder of the Henley Literary Festival, said “Popcorn looked after the PR for the Henley Literary Festival and were simply brilliant. They were imaginative, skilled, efficient and a joy to deal with – and most importantly of all, they delivered great results. We love them.”
