Henley Literary Festival Appoints Popcorn!

Popcorn has been appointed by the prestigious Henley Literary Festival to drive awareness of its annual riverside gathering and to drive the profile of its exclusive events throughout the week long programme.

Now in its 6th year, the impressive calibre of authors secured year after year by the organisers has firmly positioned Henley on the literary calendar alongside the established Cheltenham and Edinburgh festivals. The event attracts visitors in its thousands every day during its run, traditionally from the surrounding areas, and Popcorn has been tasked with spreading the net wider and driving nationwide awareness of the festival which is hosted in a beautiful riverside location.

Popcorn Founder Louise Lloyd says ‘The Henley Literary Festival is a dream to work on, the calibre of authors ranging from Michael Palin to Sophie Hannah give us a real hook for glossy and national press. We can also tap into the special events which take place throughout the week, allowing us to introduce new consumers to the world of literary festivals and remove the mystique.

‘Events like ‘wineand crime’ with Simon Kernick and ‘poetry and prosecco’ with Helen Lederer mean we can remove the barriers and encourage all literary lovers to get involved. We have a far reaching media campaign planned with a complimentary focus on book clubs which we are confident will drive footfall and ticket sales.

Event organiser Sue Ryan says ‘The festival is a real labour of love for the events team and we have traditionally achieved great success in the local media to drive our desired ticket sales, now in year six we feel it is time to ramp up the media approach and audience reach. Popcorn PR presented some great ideas and insights which represented a good understanding of us as a team and where we want to take the festival’.
